Abstract

Experiential Group Assignments Dr. Rosalie van Baest [email protected] Experiential group assignments might stimulate each of the participants in their concious intra-personal and conscious interpersonal development. Intra-personal development starts with being open to your Self. Focus on the intra-personal by conscious reflection is essential to set and keep intra-personal development in motion. The relation between intra-personal and interpersonal development can come forward when an experiential group assignments will be carried out by a group of students, family, friends or colleagues. A better understanding of one’s own point of view becomes possible. An insight into the perspective of the other participants comes nearer. Every participant subscribes the values, set down as part of the experiential group assignment, for a positive progress of the gathering. The experiential group assignment makes it possible to discuss the experience together, the emotions felt and the reactions on it. The perspective of every participant can broaden and deepen. Following the process of the experiential group assignment contributes to a positive experience. Reflecting consciously on the gathering shortly afterwards is of importance. Writing down the reflection in a notebook is helpfull to remember the thoughts and feelings of that moment. More experiential group assignments are necessary in the future, if possible with the same group, to keep the development going,
