Abstract
More than 500 million COVID-19 cases have been noted February 2022 in Turkey. The country is one of the most impacted country all around the world with twenty million cases. The cement industry in Turkey ranks among the most energy intensive sectors with huge production capacities among the biggest exporter countries. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effects of the pandemic on the cement industry in Turkey by showing the changes in manufacturing capacities, and export rates of all facilities in the country. According to the findings of the study, the epidemic has not important effects on the capacities of the factories. The factory capacities have been increased by 11.6% during the epidemic. However, it is found that the epidemic has no significant impact on the export rates of the cement, but it has important effects on the capacity usage of the facilities. The cement export rates of the country has continued to rise slightly but the capacities of the factories in the Turkish cement sector has been decreased to around 40% in 2019.
